Canada’s unemployment rate at a 43-year low

Statistics Canada reported that employment held steady in December 2018 and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.6%. The National Post also reported that Canada’s economy beat forecasts by gaining 9,300 jobs in December 2018 and for the second straight month, the jobless rate was at its lowest level since Statistics Canada started measuring comparable data in 1976.
