RDBA Consultation Submissions in May 2018

In May 2018, RDBA responded to three consultation requests from regulators that affect Deposit Brokers and the Canadian client name deposit industry.

FSCO Submission
In April and May of 2018, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) invited feedback on its proposed Treating Financial Services Consumers Fairly Guideline. Below is a link to the submission from RDBA’s Chair Brian Evans:

Finance Canada Submission
In February 2018, Finance Canada released Reviewing Canada’s Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Regime in advance of parliament’s five-year review of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA). Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce Submission
At the beginning of May 2018, RDBA received a request to appear at a Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce to comment on proposed updates, specifically Division 2 of Part 6 of Bill C-74.
